Hi Readers,
It’s been awhile since i write, recently there is a news circulating on the net about the Manila bus hijack. It’s really a tragic to know that 8 tourist were killed during the bus siege. However before i begin writing, this shall not be a post of discrimination or anything, just a opinion. So today i will be writing about “Lesson”
Indeed a lesson to be learned, for the Philippines government and the police force. The hijacker just wanted to be reinstated to his rank, it’s a simple thing to oblige to his request. This hijack lasted for almost 12 hours, during this 12 hours there were many chance for the negotiator/sniper/police to bring him down. What taking them so long or what are they doing?
What will you do if there is a hijacker who is holding hostages? BBC has put up a article on this and i feel that they are totally right. LINK.I feel that the government of Philippines do not cherish the lives of the tourist, if they really do cherish they would have do something within that time frame. After looking at all the news and seeing the family of the dead ones grief over such events is really bothering a number of people.
Philippines should answer to the public regarding this matter, a public apology won’t help as it shows that the government has no sincerity or shows that they are indeed sorry for this matter. Hongkong government is very angry about this and asked them to do a investigation.
But after all this have happen will Philippines learn how to train their police properly? and have proper equipment? News are spreading fast, i feel that the tourist shouldn’t have died for nothing. I hope that such events should be properly handled. A valuable lesson for government.
