Repentance

Hi Readers,

Yesterday i wrote about “experience”, but being able to learn from experience is not enough. That is why today i will be writing on “repentance”. I won’t be talking about gods or bibles here.  But more on logical talking. So repentance is a form of understanding your past remorse and seeking forgiveness from someone, is that all to repentance?

People who broke a promise, told a lie, obstruct the law, commit robbery, pain caused by our own actions or any form of remorse, those are mistake and wrongdoings that we have done. So we need to repent on our actions, repent means change of attitude, change of behavior, change of perspective, change of mind, and many more.

Repent is actually a word we use to change our-self due to our mistakes. Of course there are many other form of ways to change like reflecting on our actions, but repent does more then just changing.

Have you realized most people would ask for forgiveness if they have done something wrong, but they did not mention or say  that they have repented from their mistake. That’s the whole point of repenting to understand your mistake and not to do it again. Repenting is a form of action, not just verbally saying it out. Forgiveness is simply a sorry to someone who you have hurt or done wrong to. But when one repents, one first acknowledges the wrongness of one’s ways, and makes a commitment to change for a better.

Everyone who does mistakes will reflect upon them-self, that is reflecting upon their actions. Repent is a big commitment in changing yourself for a better :)

“The moment we repent for our wrongs, is the moment we understand forgiveness.” Quoted by me

  1. Many people think to repent, is to say you are sorry, and to ask for forgiveness. This definition is mostly wrong.
Well I myself dont know the true definition of this word “repent” but to my understandings and beliefs, and the way I see, it is to change your current path. It does not even have to mean that your old path was wrong.
From your past post, ‘experience’, it is already a good start to feel remorse, or even regret on something, and repenting is the next step to make use of the experience.
I agree on the importance in the title of your topic :)

  2. i think i need to do something now. My gf and i quarreled this afternoon just because of something shallow. With this post, i now understand why she’s not happy with my sorry. She stopped talking, but i know she’s still mad at me. Maybe i should show her that i really changed by showing her thru my actions. (sigh)

  3. repent-most people think that saying sorry when u did something bad is enough but after that they will do it again and will ask again for your forgiveness. I myself experience it many times. xoxo that’s all for me :P ..,

  4. Hmmm… asking for forgiveness is… asking someone to not get upset on you, however, repentance is… asking yourself to clear out of the wrong doings you have done–then starting again from the beginning ^_^

  5. Jean: Firstly you got to be calm, understand your mistake and learn from it, so you will not do it again. That is repenting :) show her through your actions. Touched her with your actions :)

  6. Repenting is a important thing in life as everyone do make mistakes, it’s either a big or a small mistake

  10. yes Cez, however there is nothing to be burden about, either you repent or you don’t as your human consciences is a very mystical thing, we don’t even know if we have go beyond our conscience.
