Assumption

Hi Readers,

What a marvelous topic on “being accused” yesterday , well it does has an impact on some and made people realized about “Being accused”, however being accused is somewhat similar to assumption, so today i would like to write about “assumption”. Assumption is like a imaginary thoughts in your mind, which makes you accept the truth without any proof.

Assumptions are natural thought process, both conscious and unconscious in our mind. It’s where we force perceive into reality. It can be either good or bad, it can messed up our decisions and thinking if we were to continue to assume things that has no concrete evidences or proof, an assumption is something unclear about so you need to “assume” an answer in order to carry on. If the assumption you had turn out right, you do not need to do anything as you were assuming this outcome you planned for.

Humans tend to assume things about people and matter. When you agreed to help, people will assume that you are going to help everything that needs help, when you say you are checking, people will assume that you are checking everything. Assumption is not a form of knowledge, it’s actually a delusion in your mind where you make things up. Assumption is also part of human nature, everyone assume stuffs sometimes, but is assumption the reality?

I believe that everyone assume things or people around us, everyone has different things or problem to place their assumptions on. There is no discrimination or prejudice against  assumption. But do remember, assumption will not solve anything in reality if you have no evidences. You don’t go around assuming that a person is rich if you have no concrete evidence ,Vice versa. The fact is that assumption is always an imaginary thinking of human, and not a knowledge.

However as this is a natural thing and hard to control, we are indeed assuming everyday as part of our life. Such as assuming what is going to happen later, or assuming the outcome. Have you realized you are assuming?

  1. A very detailed topic about assumptions , humans tends to based on their natural instincts instead of finding more source to the core of the problem ; yeah. asuumptions , to be blunt , are just guesses.
As saying , “never assumes the things they are , there are more then meet the eye” .

i like this : “Never assume the obvious is true.” Quoted by William Safire” :)

  4. Good topic. We just had our lecture about psychological disorders and assumption was one of the symptoms of one of the disorders. This has pretty much of the whole idea of the topic. I like it.. ^_^

  5. Russell: wow! simply amazing! psychological disorder haha! what about OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder)? almost the same? thank you!

  6. Nice topic and very inspiring.
This post makes me think like assumptions is like a desire to believe what we want to believe ..

  7. Remember the old adage: “when you assume, you make an ‘ass’ out of ‘u’ and ‘me’.”

  8. <3 shawn— i did not understand weelll…hiihih
    but ur a good writer

assuming bring hurts and pains so dont assume for it brings false hopes

  9. ahh.. Assumptions. i admit. i do make assumptions sometimes. but i usually keep it to myself as like you’ve said on your blog, we need evidence. and i don’t have that evidence so i try and keep my mouth shut. another well done blog shawn shawn <3 :)

  10. you need to “assume” an answer in order to carry on.

I really agree yo this statement. Like in crimes, you will assume who will be the suspects. After that, it’s very easy to investigate by asking some questions to the suspects you assumed. :D

  11. i always assume and i end up being hated by everyone . hahahaha . what can i do, i love to assume. lols

but well , assumption often results to fear and anxiety. dont expect of how things would happen before it actually happened.

  12. Assumptions are very powerful in some way it brings great impact towards how we treat someone or something and can change the way we do differently.
However assumptions are very important in our life, we have to assume something to find an answer. Although its not always 100% right, assumptions are made so we have somewhat of a choice or decision. For example, when we are trying to open a door with a lot of key in hand, we have to assume that one of them is the key to the lock.
Unwarranted assumptions on the other hand are not supposed to be spoken as this may make others believe in what is not surely true.
We must always understand that assumptions are not conclusions :)

  13. I agree. Everyday, I assume things for the future. Like early in the morning, I assume that the day will be good. :D

First time to read one of your posts.

    :)

  14. @elfie: exacty, it is indeed powerful. Your right about assuming to find an answer as people is curious. haha! nice comment! thanks!

  15. your blog is just a living proof that everything is connected to each other..hahah..from accepting truth..we came till assumptions

    its true..everyone make assumptions..you do.i do.he does.she does.we already did our own assumptions

making assumption is just almost the same as accusing.. we think its factual already..but we don’t have any proofs..just like a ‘postulate’ in mathematics :D

i guess its normal to assumpt..but as much as possible..lets keep it to ourselves

  16. Bennjoe: You are right, its a connection. Most of my topics has a connection. yeah! nice understanding! thanks alot!
