Instinct

Hi Readers,

Yesterday when i wrote about “anticipation”, i wondered about something special. Being able to anticipate something that is currently ongoing is exciting and interesting. What about everyday “instinct” that we have everyday? So today i will be writing about “instinct”. Instinct was said to be born in animal, however instinct is also part of human, it’s a sense or feeling. Everyone have instinct as it is a feeling or a sense where you will be in a state of subconscious.

Instinct is an urge or an idea to do something whenever you feel that something is right or wrong. For instance, You are walking on the pavement, and a car is speeding towards you, you will have an instinct to jump out of the way to prevent yourself from getting knocked down. Instinct can be either good or bad, many people can have instincts about different matters or situations, which cause them to hallucinate or/and have mental breakdown.

Instinct is not only inborn into us, it can also be developed your daily routine or work. Basic instincts of humans are survival, hunger, tear, procreation and many more. It’s something that we do not learn yet it’s mysteriously or naturally shown. Instinct is natural, it doesn’t go through our conscious thoughts, yet making it seems as though you are in your own world.

We also follow our instincts sometimes, it acts as a guidance to us. Whenever we feel a sense of lost, instinct will naturally come into our mind as though you have someone guiding you and making you motivated. Making instinct your guidance whenever you feel lost and it will be of great help.

Personally, instincts can be used practically but not totally, if we were to use instincts as our decision or choices, we will be controlled by our own instincts and that makes us have no decision of our own. Instinct is a killer if you intend to use it in a bad way. However, trust yourself in everything you do, rather then letting emotions or anything take over you.

“Instinct is untaught ability.” Quoted by Alexander Bain

  1. I believe instinct is something that we perceive. It is what we expect to happen next; yes, just like what you said, it is either right or wrong. It cannot be a prediction, because we all experience it in just gush of thoughts, however, no matter how good our instincts are, it is still subjected to failure. That’s why it is better to deviate from instincts sometimes, to feel and experience a lot of other things.

  2. yes yes, quite true. Instinct can be good and bad. I also agree with the fact that instinct is developed from daily routine and work. What we do from day to day has so much effect on us, even the events that we consider most insignificant can have such a profound effect on us. Instinct is natural, it can’t be given to you, it just happens from day to day as we grow as a person.

  3. true, instinct can both be natural and nurtured. but when we have gone through personal experiences in our lives, we tend to believe more in instincts rather than reasons because we believe in our past experiences, which affects our instincts. experiences nature our instincts, so whether one really does believe in his/her instinct does not determine the source of control over his/her life.

  4. Cleared my mind.i must follow myself..not what my instinct says..must not depend on instincts..but depend on the facts around me..but our instinct CAN save us sometimes..but not ALWAYS..so we must not rely on our instincts that much..everyone has their own instincts..others are right..yet most are wrong.. so its not really really a good decision to rely on our instincts
